Changes to Gambling Law to Affect Online Bingo Companies Based Offshore

UK’s updated gambling law is sure to raise havoc with some online bingo companies located overseas. According to a new report, as of 1 December 2014, all online bingo firms that wish to advertise their product in the UK and offer bets to UK based clients will be required to hold a UK gaming license and pay a 15% gross profit tax.

Currently, numerous bingo sites such as Betfair, Ladbrokes and William Hill, that are Gibraltar based, enjoy a tax rate of as little as 1% with a £425k cap.
